Alexia Markopoulos, Artist

Alexia Markopoulos is a Greek-American, San Diego–based artist working primarily in illustration and portraiture. Her work is defined by heavy eyes, bold linework, vibrant color, and surreal imagery where darkness meets humor. Influenced by the neon glow of downtown San Diego, her current series explores how pain can be transformed into power and story—using beauty, absurdity, and intensity as tools for coping and reclamation. Her art leans into the strange and the luminous as a way of escaping (and surviving) an increasingly annoying world.
